Artistic vision

WL Hanson’s paintings are architectural and sculptural, using color, space, and form to create a sense of place, movement, and scale. His compositions focus on the intersections of light and shadow, structure and history, drawing the viewer into an intimate relationship with the image.

His collage paintings contain references to architecture, language, music, and design to evoke a sense of the passage of time and the evolution of culture and style.

Across the work, however, one priority remains constant: the challenge of achieving visual balance—bringing color, form, space, and structure into a composition that feels resolved, engaging, and visually compelling.

Please enjoy the work.
